| __ London 20th January 2009. Mobile data applications and services company mxData today announces its acquisition of m-spatial, the mobile local search specialist. mxData specialises in the delivery of travel and related information to mobile phone users, including its highly successful TrafficTV service which now boasts over 100,000 subscribers. m-Spatial, backed by venture capital investors DFJ Esprit, Alta Berkeley and Delta Partners, has invested since 2001 in the development of software to enable effective searching and sharing of local information, including technology which enables locations to be bookmarked and shared across different types of media. In the process, it has built partnerships with vendors such as Orange, O2, Telefonica, Vodafone and Seat Pagine Gialle, the leading Italian directory provider. With this acquisition mxData is therefore adding that all-important last mile capability which will make its solutions even more compelling to consumers, local authorities, and mobile operators. mxData s existing live traffic and travel services will now be augmented with destination information, location tools, and personal navigation from m-spatial. David James, CEO of mxData says: m-spatial products perfectly complement the mxData proposition and together we can provide a much richer range of applications for the customers of both companies. This acquisition marks a significant step forward in our ambition to build a business that will profit from the large market for travel-related information and associated mobile applications. Rick Smith, former CEO Business Development Manager of m-spatial, will join the Business Development Team of mxData who are responsible for driving commercial partnerships and sales. Rick says: I am delighted that m-spatial is becoming part of a larger business that shares our vision and values.
