Innovative solution provides real-time backup, offsite replication and instant virtualisation technology delivered as a managed service suited to small and medium businesses

Lochristi, Belgium January 15th, 2009, A-Server, a leading supplier of cloud computing DAAS.com , data backup and recovery solutions has announced details of the work of its growing channel which now includes over 100 partners across the Europe. Mylo Inc, an A-Server partner based in Belgium, now has over 47 servers under management, primarily within BMW dealerships across the country.

Mylo Inc originally created its own custom backup and recovery solution but switched to A-Server earlier this year to scale and improve its service and add additional features such as Instant Virtualisation. As Mathias Buckinx, Founder and Managing Director of Mylo Inc explains, We are currently a solution provider to 33 of the 68 BMW dealerships in Belgium and working with A-Server has allowed us to provide a highly professional and extremely cost effective solution to our clients.

The Mylo Inc Recovery Agent MiRA is built on an A-Server chassis with technical modifications to integrate its own support services within the standard BDR solution. The quality of the A-Server hardware is better, the offsite replication and recovery is transparent and the instant virtualization technology is very well integrated, comments Buckinx, We have also found the monthly charge structure popular with our clients who only pay for what they need without having to invest capital upfront for new hardware or software.

A-Server provides to channel partners a complete white label appliance and managed service aimed at helping small and medium sized businesses protect valuable data and servers. The A-Server Backup Data Recovery BDR appliance uses Instant Virtualization Technology to recover data faster than traditional drive rebuilds. A-Server also offer a bare metal restore and includes overnight shipping of a restored-from-last-backup BDR appliance in the event of a major disaster that renders a customers site out of commission such as fire, earthquake or flooding.

BMW and Mini concessionaire Philippe Emond Group needed to improve their daily backup system for their branches in Belgium and France. For this, they selected a MiRA system from Mylo Inc, a young and dynamic company with a strong understanding of the IT systems used by the Group.

After having completed the entire installation, we simulated the crash of one of our most important servers, explains C dric Ansay, IT Manager for the Philippe Emond Group, MiRA proved its valuable capability by getting us back up and running in virtually no time. With the highly secured off-site backup to complete the package, we know our valuable data is in safe hands.

Another user benefiting from MiRA is Filip Steppe - BMW and Mini concessionaire, owner of Garage Romein in Aalst and Dendermonde Belgium : Our company has grown substantially and we are increasingly dependent on information technology and need reliable and highly available partners. We also felt it was time that we did something to protect one of our most valuable assets - our critical business data. Mylo and its MiRA solution does not require a heavy investment, it is reliable and integrates seamlessly into our existing infrastructure.

The backup system not only gets rid of our tapes, but also takes into account worst case scenarios, thanks to its integrated offsite backup, round the clock monitoring and integrated VPN solution for fast and efficient support. explains Steppe.

A-Server provide training, technical support and the datacenter capacity for off-site replication while local channel partners such as Mylo Inc handle implementation and customer relationships. For small business customers this provides the benefit of working with a trusted and local IT supplier but backed by a much larger service provider to ensure the highest possible levels of service. The solution follows on the success of technology partner Zenith InfoTech which launched a similar service in the US last year that already has 400,000 computers under monitoring and over 9000 installations of its Backup and Data recovery service all sold exclusively via a network of small, local IT service providers.
